Our Work

Our art is inspired by many sources, but we look to living things (especially fruit, vegetables, flowers, animals and birds) and country
spaces for much of our work. American Folk Art traditions form a foundation upon which we build. Living in the Sierra-Nevada foothills, a few miles from each other, we are both surrounded by mountains, valleys, rivers, lakes, farms and historical gold mining towns, and, within an hour or two, we can be in the heart of the Sacramento Delta or watching the breakers on a Pacific Ocean beach, all of which provide abundant subjects for our painting.

We also welcome the opportunity to design and paint pieces specifically to match your décor or a theme such as a particular fabric, wallpaper pattern or a favorite children's book. Please contact us if you are interested in this service.

Some of the items you see on these pages are for sale and others are presented so that you may see the range of our work.  Please contact us for availability, as most of our work is produced in limited quantities and our inventory is constantly changing.  We will make every effort to produce what appeals to you, should you so desire.

Our furniture and other decorative items start as new, high quality unfinished pieces, old pieces that we search for, lovingly acquire and refurbish, or pieces that are brought to us by our customers.  We use only the finest of water-based paints.  All paints and glazes are hand applied. All pictorials are originals and are hand painted and designed to fit the piece. We use no stencils. No two pieces are alike. Although, we can recreate something you might see here, it will not be identical to anything else we have done, as everything is hand painted and can be considered an original. And, finally, all pieces receive several coats of protective varnish for a durable and lasting finish.
