Samantha Walsh is a stay at home mom
raising two children. Samantha has always had a creative side and an
interest in art. She studied graphic design and fine art at Cabrillo College in
Soquel, California and Foothill College in Los Altos, California. Prior to
having children, she worked as a special events coordinator utilizing her
creative side whenever she could. Having children has inspired Samantha in many
ways. The designs of her children's furniture such as rocking chairs and step
stools were direct inspirations from her children's interests and hobbies.
"Having the capability of staying at home with my children and having the
time to paint is so wonderful for me. I enjoy watching my kids at their
art easels while I am at mine." Samantha loves being in business with
her mom. "I couldn't ask for a better person to be partner with. My mom is
my best friend."
Priscilla Alden-Roach received her training in fine arts at Stanford University.
After her three children were in school, she started an
interior design business in Nevada City, California, which has been home since
1975. In the last few years, she and her daughter Samantha have developed a
decorative arts business specializing in furniture and
furnishings as well as murals. "Samantha and I have such fun together
brainstorming design ideas for each new piece we acquire. I love the
business we have developed, and I'm so grateful for my years as an interior
designer because I think it gives me a special insight into how people can
incorporate decorative art into their homes."
